Before you fiddle u need one and u need to know how to use it.
Here i will explain some beginner stuff to get you started.

Some fiddles no matter how hard u try will still sound bad. sometimes it's not u. it is actually the instrument. you can avoid that by looking around and taking suggestions. mine is great quality. I puchased it at Chimney's Violin Shop at THE CHIMNEY'S VIOLIN SHOP
614 Lerew Rd.
Boiling Springs Pa. 17007 or call (717) 258-3203

Your instrument won't last long unless you care for it properly.
1.handle with great care.
2.do not let others play with your instrument.
3.keep it clean
4.if it breaks ,don't try to repair it yourself.
5.when you are not using your fiddle always store it in its case.
6. be careful with the bow. it can break easily.
7.rosin the bow several times a week.
8.don't touch the hair on your bow. it may spoil.
To properly care for your instrument you need some accesories. here are a few.
rosin
shoulder rest
soft cloth

to play your instrument and understand it you need to know the parts. At the top of your instrument s the scroll. the pegs are the knobs at the top near the scroll and they are in the pegbox. the nut is the little white strip you see drectly under the pegbox. beneath the nut you see a black surface, where your fingers go. this is called the fingerboard, and the wood beneath is called the neck. and the strings are obvously the long things that make the music. The strings are either made of gut or steel. the fiddler's string are traditionally made of steel to produce a high tinny hillbilly sound whereas the violin strings are gut to produce the full orchestra sound. the rouned part near the neck is well, the top. and the holes in the side near the bridge are the F-holes. the bridge is the peice of wood under the strings. under the bridge(though you won't be able to see t because it is inside) is the sound post. the fine tuners are the small buttons used to slightly alter the sound. the tail peice is the slender black peice where the fine tuners are located. the chin rest looks kind f like a bowl. and when you are playing that is where your chin goes. and the button at the end is simply called the end button.
The parts of the bow are also important, and here they are:
the tip or piont is, well, locaed at the tip. the hair is the only part that looks like hair. the hair is usually if not always horse hair. the stick is like the backbone of the bow. the bow grip is where you rest your index finger while playing. it looks like a pencil grip. the frog iss the boxlike structure near the end of the bow. the adjusting screw is at the end, and is used to alter the tightness of the hair.
